Creating web sites for beginners
There are specific points you should keep in mind as you begin to think about building new web sites.
What is your web site about?
Build a web sites that keeps the reader engaged and keeps him on your page.
Before you start building take a notepad and pencil and write down in your own words what your web sites is all about. Are you selling something? Are you promoting an item or are you just providing information for people to access?
All of these are great starting points and I'd like to stress one thing about web sites. Talk about what you know. If you are a lover of sports, talk about it. You have opinions right? Put all your thoughts on your web sites. Talk about what you love and you will write original content that no one else has on their web site.
So often you will see the same information over and over again on web sites. Write something original. Write from your heart and it will get noticed and your web sites will be a success!
Plan the web site
Get some drawing paper and draw out what your web site should look like. Place a box where you would like your menu to be and don't forget to put the menu at the bottom of the page. Use a text menu for this as search engines like it much better.
Decide on your domain name
Remember to keep those keywords in mind when you choose your domain name.
Choose a hosting company
This is one you have to really think about. Godaddy has a built in feature that gives you free web site hosting and this might be a great way to start. The only draw back is that is had ads on it. But hey, it's free! So build your web site, make it perfect and then find a hosting package that fits your needs.
Promote your web site and optimize it to make money! This is so cool and it is quite easy. It's called Adsense and it's free! I love free stuff
